Workplaces provide access to large numbers of individuals, allowing contact and interventions with people who may be at risk of depression and anxiety and are reluctant to seek help via the usual health referral pathways. Prevention initiatives in the workplace can also have economic benefits for Australia, with depression alone estimated to cost Australian employers more than $12 billion each year due to absenteeism and reduced performance.

The Prevention Hub will improve the design and delivery of e-mental health tools for Australian workplaces, including small businesses. It will also develop evidence-based prevention frameworks for specific workplaces.
